Stagedoor Manor Studios!

For the first time in its illustrious history, world-renowned center for the performing arts Stagedoor Manor has announced it will hold programming outside its traditional summer sessions. This winter, Stagedoor Manor Studios is hosting three long-weekend intensives in New York City, focusing on audition preparation, playwriting and master acting, and behind the scenes work.

“We’re incredibly excited to extend beyond our summer program,” said Stagedoor Manor Studios CEO and Stagedoor Manor co-owner Maggie Samen. “Stagedoor isn’t just for the summer anymore. We can’t wait to see our students and staff during the winter for some intensive sessions, which will allow us to focus attention on students in small class sizes.”

The first session, which will be hosted at Shelter Studios in New York City Nov. 10-12, focuses on audition technique, pairing students with theater professionals to master the process of auditioning for a musical or drama role. Students will also have the opportunity to meet Broadway veterans Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys, CBS’s Madam Secretary) and Kimberly Grigsby (musical director of Amélie and Spring Awakening).

On January 12-14, Stagedoor Manor Studios will hold its second session, featuring a 24-Hour Playfest during which teams will work together to write, produce, and star in original plays, paired with a master acting class. The final intensive of the season will be held February 16-18, focusing on Behind the Scenes elements of theater – from directing and producing to stage managing and design. All three sessions will be held in New York City.

To ensure one-on-one time with experts, each session will be capped at only 35 students age 12-18. For more information, please visit stagedoormanorstudios.com
