Message : OK, I feel really old now after reading all the messages posted. I was a camper from 1984-1989. I started out in Camelot and by my last year was on Main 3...what a thrill. :) It's been really cool to see some of the campers I was with go on to become working artists. My room mates/friends/people I remember were Robyn Berger and Alison (I forgot her last name) and Schuylar Mallas, Rory Pollinger, Rob LeBron, Jared. Gillian (I loved her sooo much)was my counselor in Main 2 (maybe 3 also). My last year I was in I Remember Mama, Playing for Time and Inherit the Wind. I was also in Godspell the year before with Danny Goldstein and Zach Braff. Jack Romano was alive and a brilliant teacher and guide whose honesty and integrity and love of the performing arts resonated through-out all of camp life. Some of us fortunate students continued to work with him in the off-season at the S. Meisner Theatre in NYC on 11th Ave. Rory, Brooke, Rob, Chris, Jamie, Josh et al (I can't believe I'm remembering these names). I was looking through the information packets you sent me much early and was wondering what was meant by the "RED ACCESORIES" that you ask all Girl participating in musical theater to bring. Also I hope to take a beginning modern dance class. I have taken a variety dance class at my school, but never one that specifically focused on modern. I remember my teacher telling me that modern was dance barefoot and I wanted to make sure this is correct and I don't need to be any special type of shoe. Message : Ok, I wasn't going to do this but here goes. I only went to Stagedoor for 1 year, but I think I remember every minute of it. 1988? 1989? I reallllllly wanted to be in Jack's Cabaret, but I didn't quite make it. Too many girls with brown hair and brown eyes... Sound familiar? I only remember one roommate, Darcy Greenfield, and we were next to Tracey Glieberman's room. I was Lady Larkin in Once Upon A Matress starring Tracy Shar, Zach Braff, Danny Goldstein, Max (Jack Guilford's grandson and Molly's brother), Juliana Kraus, Tara Dickerman, Caryn W...? And David or Steve Goldstein was the musical director?And I think Kim Huges was the stage director. I feel like I didn't know so many people because I was only there one summer. I was also in Cole during the last 3 weeks and I remember CJ Meioli, Freya Emsback, Merrill Finger and Lydia Meyer. I also remember a Suzanne Shulman on our floor, Jimmy Peters who was in Bye Bye Birdie, Gabey Oldman who I just saw in a crazy TV Movie!!! (I wish I could remember the names of the girls who I snuck out of camp with for ice cream the first weekend I was at camp!) I ended up majoring in musical theatre at Syracuse University, but soon switched to Drama/Acting and added Sociology. Now I work at a financial services company in Boston...I try to do Community theatre and semi professional when I have time, but that's it. It's nice to see some people that were there in my day on it. I am so sorry about the losses and I am surprised to see that John Stefanuik is no longer working there. Hey John! Well here's the abridged version of my life - I attended Stagedoor 96-98, immediately before I went to college. I went to SUNY Geneseo, dabbled in english and philosophy before settling back into, oh yes, theatre. Now I have graduated and have been running around New York City auditioning. Since with no agent or connections or anything it has been pretty difficult, and because I feel I could use the training, I am applying to start at a conservatory program in the fall. I'm very excited - I applied to the Neighborhood Playhouse and the School for Film and Television. I'm really hoping for Neighborhood. So that's it. I was there in the late 80's with Michael Larson and Jack Romano--such great memories! I did Working, Pirates of Penzance, King of Hearts, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Message : Such nostalgia. A fantastic trip down memory lane. It was 20 years ago when I was camp nurse along with Sylvia Kulick. I came over from the UK for the summer and met so many amazing people - it was wonderful. Since then - I got married, (remember the summer camp engagement when my partner flew out from England to propose;) Sylvia and Syd came to visit us in London; we moved abroad, (to South Africa;)had two daughters; returned to England; got divorced; I returned to advanced education and have recently changed career to teaching. Along with my two daughters I am about to visit New York in a couple of weeks time. Are there any public shows around that time, we'd love to visit? This is funny, primarily because I own the domain, and the guy was trying to buy it from me while he was trying to sell it to Carl.

Stagedoor is always a constant thought in my mind. Is Zach Braff, Wendy Braffs brother? If he is, I met him once in 1984 at camp if not then she has a different brother. She was one of my closest friends at Stagedoor, and a brilliant actress...she also helped me in finding my theater boarding school...Walnut Hill...the beautiful Joanna will be missed dearly, and I will always remember her as Louisa Contini in Nine, opposite to her then love Charlie Jett as Guido (a role I yearn to play some day)...so on from that sad sad note, I was wondering if anyone could help me in finding a Stagedoor shirt...let me know. Videotaped submissions will also be accepted at Camp Broadway by Friday, October 18. If accepted, the participation fee for this program is $325.00 (not including costume). Message : Hey all! I was doing the bored ego-boost where you pop your own name into a search engine and lo and behold - Stagedoor Manor is the only link that pops up. God bless this place. I'm happy and sad to say that these were the best years of my life to date. (The best are yet to come, of course, but when?!) I am currently a paralegal at an entertainment company (www.lakeshoreentertainment.com), and all is well but something is nagging. Stagedoor gave me a taste of the joy that performing can bring. I honestly don’t think I will be whole until I get back on stage and I have this amazing camp to curse and thank for that. I miss my friends in Barrymore (Greg Zola, Danny Goldstein, David Cohen, Jesse Bush) and some of my inspirational teachers and directors (Michael Larson, Eric Nightingale, Jeff, Jack Romano), and the many amazing actresses I’ve met over the years (Leslie (my Golde), Lauren Gleicer, Monica Keena, Sloan, Summer, Tracy Perry, Jen Yahoodik, Tearson Wheeler, Meghan Marx, Sara Schmidt, Karen Sisson, Caroline, Dawn, Jen Sartori, Kim Karniol, Medda, Carole Buia) (if I’ve forgotten any of my friends, please forgive me – 2 years as a Rave promoter did some damage to my long term memory.)
