A few people wrote to me and said "No fair! Now first and second session won't get to do Rent for three years! And since it's for older kids, we'll be graduated. We won't get to do it and our school would NEVER do it!" So we talked it over and we decided to do something we had NEVER done before...repeat a show two years in a row! I say a little because "news" shows like ET can be affected if there is breaking news. Message : WOW!! Too many questions to answer!! The SPECIAL thing we did on Tuesday was a private screening of a Sundance award -winning film called "American Teen". It was SO secret, they brought security with them!! It doesn't open nation wide until July 25. The producers wanted to see our reaction...they asked questions after, and so did we. The packed out Elsie theater crowd LOVED it and after, they gave everyone posters and buttons. It was SO COOL! Also, the production of Andrew Lippa's Wild Party that we are doing is one of the Music Theater International workshops to re-work the material and make it more accessable to younger audiences. While I can't tell you yet about a special publicity event concerning THAT show, STAY TUNED!

Message : About the "on Broadway" productions being discussed earlier...Hairspray (and others LIKE it) are being done by EQUITY theaters. Mac-Hayden is an Eguity theater. The material is NOT available yet to AMATEUR productions!! IF a non-Equity group is doing it, it is either by special permission only (doubtful) or they are simply doing it illegally!! If you go to the MTI web site( mtishowsdotcom), go to the page for the title you are wondering about and where you see the arrow for requesting permission to do the show it says "Currently Restricted". That means Professional companies only...or limited access to areas of the country. We are NOT Equity AND we are way too close to New York City!!SORRY!

Message : Thanks for the photo compliments! My camera is a Canon EOS 30D - EFS 17-85mm. Here is the most important element: I have a stabilizer that makes the really dark stuff crisper. I shoot at 1000 and use Picasa program to "glamourize" a bit. I DO have something up my sleeve for session 3, but NOT telling! DRAMAFEST entries for session 3 are due! Get them in the mail today or tomorrow!!

Message : soo i have a question. what exactly does otc and players ensamble(sp?) do and how do you get in? cant wait for session 3! 13 days!!!!!!

Message : players ensemble and otc are hardcore groups. Players is acting, OTC is singing and dance routine. in players you choose scenes and create transitions with the other players and with the advice of the director. in OTC, you learn the traditional otc songs and dance routines. they're not TOO complicated but you definitely need to have good stage presence to get in! if you want to be in either, check the box on your audition form (only one though) and then if the casting directors think the class suits you, they will give you a callback. there are 16 people in players and like 30-40 in OTC, but players is 14+ and OTC is all ages. they are both fun to be in and fun to watch!

Message : I saw Mamma Mia. I thought it was good. I loved Meryl and her friends, as well as the guys. Amanda as Sophie was okay. I think my favorite part though was the ensemble of native Greek people. They just popped up everywhere, and I could not stop laughing! I suggest seeing it if you want to have a fun time.
