We
perform 12 full-scale shows
every three weeks in eight indoor
and outdoor theaters. Campers choose to appear
in either Musical or Drama productions. Auditions are
kept fun and easy: In partnership with another camper
their own age, they read a short scene on stage, then
each is given the opportunity to sing. A short workshop
beforehand prepares each child, and gives them a chance
to work with the pianist playing their audition.
A variety of performance spaces include:
| |
Our newest performance space, the Oasis Theater. |
| |
Our 350-seat Mainstage, The Carl and Elsie Samuelson
Theater. |
| |
The Jack Romano Playhouse, former nightclub of
the resort. |
| |
The Cabaret Theater, a Revue style stage that
brings the audience up close. |
| |
The Forum, under a giant circus tent! |
| |
The Garden, a magical space in an environmental
setting. |
| |
The Carousel and The Merman, black
box houses perfect for the intimacy of drama. |
Professional Scenic, Costume,
and Lighting designers make Stagedoor productions
look great! Two scenic shops and an air-conditioned costume
shop with abundant stock accommodates our technical staff.
A limited number of Technical Camper spaces are
available. |
| We
guarantee individual attention and expression
by averaging 26 campers or less to each production. |

Nestled in the Catskills is one of the most extraordinary stages: the 300-seat Oasis Theater!
Dedicated in June 2008, the "Oasis" is a brand-new theater-in-the-round, built as a showcase
for our ever-growing Drama program. This air-conditioned, soundproof, state-of-the-art addition
also features a new studio, fully-equipped dressing rooms, and over 7000-square feet for creative staging.
It's hard to believe that the theater was built on the site of our indoor pool!
In addition to our productions, the Oasis will house Dramafest, our new Young Playwrights competition.
